About the Trillium Drug Plan & How to Apply
What is the Trillium Drug Program?
The Trillium Drug Program is a Government of Ontario program that subsidizes the cost of expensive prescription medications, including HIV meds and more.
You can get Trillium Drug Plan coverage can help if you don’t have insurance coverage though your employer or school.
You can also get Trillium Drug Plan coverage even if you have a private insurance plan. If your prescription costs are very high and you need help paying for the portion that isn’t covered, the Trillium Drug Program can help reduce your out-of-pocket costs.
Everyone with a valid Ontario Health Card is eligible for the Trillium Drug Program.
Trillium coverage does not mean that your medications are free. If you qualify for the Trillium Drug Program, you will be required to pay a deductible (based on your household income) to help offset the costs of your medications.
Once you qualify, you, and everyone in your household will be covered under the Trillium Drug Program.

In addition, a $2 co-pay is charged for each prescription you get from your pharmacy. The Village Pharmacy and many other pharmacies waive the $2 co-pay so you don't pay anything else out-of-pocket.
