Apretude:
Injectable PrEP is now available at
The Village Pharmacy.

  • Apretude is another option for PrEP. Instead of taking one pill once a day, Apretude is one injection, every two months. Studies show it is even more effective than daily pills.

  • You will need a prescription for Apretude from a doctor.

The Village Pharmacy's PrEP Clinic can get you started with bloodwork and an appointment with a PrEP doctor in Toronto.

Plus, you can get your injections administered by a nurse on-site at The Village Pharmacy (535 Yonge St at Wellesley, or 2518 Yonge St, north of Eglinton)

  • Yes! It's easy to switch from Truvada to Apretude once your HIV-negative status is confirmed.

  • Here are some trusted resources about Apretude:

Google 5-star review from Andrew:

I am beyond grateful to the folks at The Village Pharmacy. After navigating a nightmare process with my insurance provider to get coverage for PrEP, they made the rest very easy for me. Being able to speak to knowledgeable staff who are specialized in HIV treatment and prevention made the process so much easier. I've recommended The Village Pharmacy to anybody who will listen and expect to remain a customer for years to come.

Google 5-star review from Eran:

I’ve just been to this amazing pharmacy, to get a consulting on a sensitive issue. The pharmacist was SO patient with me, so friendly. He treated me as if I was his only client. Thank you so much for that attitude.

Google 5-star review from Clive:

Best Pharmacy ever! The team at The Village Pharmacy are amazing. Justin always has my meds prepared on time and lets me know when they are available to collect. If a new med is prescribed, he makes sure to talk me through the dosage and alerts me to any possible side effects and possible remedies to help ease them.

I have used other pharmacies in the past (SDM, Rexall, etc), but nothing compares to the service I receive at The Village Pharmacy. It is like being in a village where everyone knows your name, makes you feel welcome, and is genuinely pleased to see you and assist in any way they can. OH! and for my birthday, they sent me a great card with a nice treat attached! Now, where else would you get that????

Thanks to everyone at The Village Pharmacy for everything you do for me and the communities you serve. You're all amazing. 💖💖💖
