Cabenuva Treatment
The Village Pharmacy is an approved Cabenuva-injection site.
Cabenuva is a long-acting HIV treatment regimen administered by injection, once a month to start, and then every 2 months.
It contains 2 two HIV medications – cabotegravir and rilpivirine. Cabenuva is a complete replacement for your current antiretroviral treatment. No additional HIV medications are required.
If you are on Cabenuva, or thinking about going on Cabenuva, you can get your injection at The Village Pharmacy’s Yonge Street and Midtown locations in Toronto, for free.
LOCATIONS:

How it works:
To get started on Cabenuva, talk to your doctor to see if you meet the requirements, and get answers to questions you might have about switching HIV treatments.
If you don’t have an HIV doctor, contact us and we can refer you to one.
If you are eligible to start Cabenuva, you can choose to get your initial prescription and ongoing injections at The Village Pharmacy.
You may need insurance support, and we can help facilitate coverage for you. We also coordinate with the Cabenuva treatment nurse to schedule your injection at The Village Pharmacy downtown or midtown location, your choice.
Insurance Coverage for Cabenuva
As of December 17th, 2021, Cabenuva is covered by ODB. If you have Trillium coverage, are a senior (age 65+), or are on another plan covered by ODB, Cabenuva is covered.
Co-pay assistance is also available. Cabenuva has a co-pay assistance card to help with insurance deductibles, so most people switching to Cabenuva will have zero out-of-pocket costs.
